Drama is a powerful modality in which tots, children, students, adults, the elderly or specific groups can be encouraged to share, communicate, socialise, gain self confidence, play and express themselves through movement, dance, mime, role play, visualisation and creativity.
The use of puppetry encourages the individual to distance him or herself from the self and to thus portray a persona that he or she may normally find challenging to reveal or express.
The same applies to donning costumes, hats or even pieces of colourful fabric. These act as symbols which can encourage one to be more confident in the role one is in,
or as the persona one is portraying.
It's a world of expression with many exciting and stimulating possibilities, themes and genres.
